Christmas Stocking...

I really tried, honest I did. But whilst out getting christmas presents yesterday I stumbled across a pair of the Henry Holland for Pretty Polly tights hidden away in a store. Honestly hidden, in a tiny corner but I found em! I have been wanting these, any of them, since I first spied them on the net and I am ecstatic now I finally own a pair. I also love the fact that I keep seeing people giving me a "OMG shes cmoe out with her suspenders showing" look. Haha in your face boring, conventional tight wearing commuters of Leeds.

P.S. this is not me. My bum is much bigger. ;-)

Flashwalk

Woah how mental would it be if you were walking about and this happened?

Rage against Simon Cowell!

Fed up of mindless drivel reaching no.1 year after year? Don't want to hear Leona/Alexandra/SuBo constantly playing over the festive period? Well on the 13th December make sure you go download (and I mean the paying kind!) Rage Against The Machine - Killing in the name. But not until the 13th. Even if you have it, do it. Come on lets do it! It even got a play on Radio 1 today! If facebook managed to bring nasty Wispas back, it can definatly do this.

God Bless America...

...or Target at least. Seriously the amount of designer collabarations they do makes me sick. After Anna Sui, Alexander McQueen and Erin Fetherstone to name a few, comes along a special festive collection from those Mulleavy sisters at Rodarte which will range from $9.99 to $79.99. $79.99 for frickin Rodarte!!! Heres some of my favourites....

Any americans fancy treating me to the ribcage dress? Or the yellow cardigan? It would really help in my mission to bring colour into my wardrobe. x

Skulls, gorillas and a bit for charity....

Phew, after a day at clothes show I think my purse has gone off for a well deserved rest. But seeing as the old camera didn't get up to much I thought it better earn its keep and I'll show off my lovely treasures!!!

Super awesome stripes and skulls playsuit - Lily Kitten
Super super magazines
Ladybird skirt - Lulu & Red

Aawwww...

Mmmmm satisfying the magpie in me...
Huuuuge shoe necklace - Red Mutha
Big Unicorn necklace - Hannah Makes Things
The worlds sparkliest skull ring - can't remember
All in all a decent days haul no? Although if I'd have had more time/money I would have been all over Munchy Seeds vanilla pumpkin seeds. Bloody brilliant they were if anyone wants to stock my cupboards this christmas.

Chain gang...

I've wanted me a bit of chainmail since I saw a girl in a chain mail crop top at Cocoon in the park last summer. But I don't think I would be able to rock that look, anyway today I think I found my answer... Chainmail gloves from Fannie Schiavoni! Rock on.

We only have ourselves to blame....

How could you not love that?
Well you may be shocked to realise, as I was, that by doing simple everyday activites such as washing with soap or eating a chocolate bar you are aiding the destruction of the home of the orangutan. And you may be even more shocked to discover its all perfectly avoidable.....

Palm oil is a product of the oil palm tree, a tree grown in South America, Africa and South East Asia. It can be found in many items including foods and soaps. To get this oil though, means deforestation and destruction of the local wildlife in order to create a plantation.

In addition to the destruction of the habitat palm oil workers have also been known to attack orangutans to stop them eating the palm seedlings.
So yeah. Its in loads of stuff but like  I say it can be avoided. Posh chocolates don't contain it at all so put down the Galaxy and pick up some Green and Blacks (prefer it anyway) and Lush have already created a palm oil free soap base so you can keep a clean body and conscience (ho ho), besides which they smell blooming amazing. Sustainable palm oil is available but seeing as it would cost you a whole half pence more per bar its soooo much easier to just destroy the planet, no?

Loving Louboutin....

The French shoe god has been interviewed in the times. Including showgirls secrets to comfort in heels and why ankles are his worst nightmare.
Aaah it only makes me want a pair even more. Oh Santa......

Colouring in....

Black, grey, navy, the occasional green or white. Pretty much my day to day wardrobe. I am trying (try being the word) to bring more colour into my life but apart from my hair its not really working. I did buy a blue squin slip from Urban OUtfitters but I think if it wasn't shiny that would also drop into the navy category. SoI have been looking for inspiration...
Gala Darlings lovely lavender article has made me consider purple, I mean its not too far from blue and goes nicely with grey so I could work that in!
The colour challenge at Style Bubble has provided me with some ideas for block colours.

And as always chictopia..

 Wow at the headpiece.

Love the autumnal shades

Sweet cheeks....

Yeah yeah so Alaia is still pretty iconic and all but seeing every WAG and Hollyoaks actress in a bandage dress got old really quick. I thought I was over the  tight tight dress, but Bordelle have changed that by designing this limited edition 'Angela' girdle dress for 20ltd. Phwoar. Limited run of 20 dresses at £500 each? Dream on Deb....

Dark times....

Not quite sure whats come over me. It all started with a Vivienne Westwood armour ring and my being too poor. So Daddy-o suggested I just look for goth or rock rings seeing as they wear them and it will be cheaper. Well yeah I found some but I also found loads of other things I want. Oh well at least a new goth look would help me fit in in my local and I already wear mostly balck and grey.

Yeah its a pendant cast from an actual rats skull but something is drawing me to it....

The first one? Me want, me want, me want.

Err...yeah..this is a bum bag. With tassels, but its giving me the same kinda wanting as the rat skull.
Now exscuse me I'm off to reapply my eyeliner.

Pandoras Box...

I love it when I find a new site full of goodies just like the fantastic House of Pandora. Vintage clothing as well as new designers and none too expensive prices. Heaven.

Too cool for school...

.... academy for wayward girls, do you not realise how hard I am working for my pennies? Do you not realise how close it is to christmas and present buying? So why make me lovely things for me to buy? I never knew I needed trompe l'oeil brogues until know but at $350(!!!) maybe I should be practicing with the fabric pens!

Branching out....

Ok so while doing my usual going into shops and wishing I could buy things but having no money, I went into No15 in the Thorntons Arcade because I was hoping they would have something pretty for my Mum for christmas. They did but thats by the by because it wasn't fashion-y. Anyway back to it they had a lovely little line of wooden jewellery by The Branch. Founded in 2003 by Wendy Pickard, The Branch is a range of wooden jewellery with delightful silver and gold accents, semi precious stones and even the odd diamond. I love the fusion of glamour with the natural element of wood. Even the chainmail pieces are made from tiny wooden hoops. Now all I need to do is not buy anyone a christmas present and I can get myself a nice little selection. Giving is overrated anyway...

If someone loves me....

...they will buy me this fab scarf. I keep going into Urban Outfitters and giving it a stroke. Mmmmm so soft. And I can just wrap myself up like its a blanket which is a pretty good idea seeing as my dream jumper isn't appearing. I might have just talked myself into buying myself a scarf.

Raf and Fred...

Sometimes I wish I could wear menswear, especially when Raf Simons collabarates with Fred Perry to recreate a version of an outfit worn by Fred Perry in 1947. With shoes and everything!!! Love love.

More love...

While I'm on the here's something I like kind of train I might as well show you some lovely photosgraphs by Ryan Mcginley, I love the ethreal, dreamy quality he captures. Warning though he uses a lot of nudies.

"Fashion is at once both caterpillar and butterfly"....

I was just doing some research from my books and I came across this picture in my book of Chanel by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I can't believe I had forgotten about it. So so beautiful that I had to share.

Chanel evening dress - 1937
My crappy scanner hasn't quite captured the same glitz of the stars as the book but you get the idea? Divine.

Au revoir....

After 3 years online boutique Brittique is closing down. Sad yeah, but chin up everything is on sale. Yes everything! Until the end of October!!! It hurts that I haven't been paid yet and I need to buy practical things like microsoft word when I would much rather be spending that money on lovely things. But if you have more money perhaps you would like to buy some cut price clobber.

Something fishy...

Modern mermaids listen up! Alexander McQueens S/S10 collection is delightfully fishy. Upgrade your scales with sequins and put fins in your hair. Land lovers can also marvel at the shoes, but to be honest I think I would have as much trouble wearing them as our aquatic, footless friends.

And this is by far my favourite, favourite look of the collection.

Look at the colours when the light hits it. Mmmmm. If I was a millionaire mermaid that would be my outfit in an instant. Apparantly the inspiration for this comes from the idea that humankind is made up of creatures that evolved from the sea, and we may be heading back to an underwater future as the ice cap dissolves. Oh well with outfits like this who would complain?

Go watch the show on showstudio.com.
