Sink your teeth into this...

Well the Christmas countdown has begun (3 months tomorrow!) but a whole 3 months of Christmas does get rather tedious, and besides its Halloween first which brings me to this post inspired by this little guy I have just spied at Fortnum and Mason.

Pretty cute for a vampire huh?

Looking for something to wear whilst eating him? Then check out Etsy's Halloween costume treasury.

This would be my top choice if I had money.

Or this if you fancied something a little spookier. Both from Romantic Threads.

Maybe you are staying in and want to be comfy but would still like to get into the spirit? Then I would recommend a Kigu, the black cat I feel is particularly suitable.

Christmas can wait, there is dressing up to be done!!!

Lady in red....

.....Its my birthday soon!!!! Unfortunatley I will be in London away from all my besties and boyfriend :( Fortunatley I am going to celebrate early. Woohoo!!! Of course birthdays mean going out, drinking, dancing and possibly falling over, so what better to fall over in than a new outfit? Hooray!
Haha wonky or cheesy? I can't do photos.
But how awesome eh? Early birthday present from aforementioned boyfriend, bought for me while we were at Vintage Threads in Manchester. I was having a bad shopping day until someone handed us a flyer for a vintage fair.
And of course I needed new shoes.

I'll get proper non-blurry, akward posed pictures on Saturday I'm sure.
Last year I fell down the stairs and had to hang my shoes on a coat hanger in the cloakroom, so wish me luck this year. Seriously it was painful, I still can't lean on my elbow!

Beauty School Dropout...

Been a while eh? I'm trying not to slip into my old habit of a few posts a month but I am a busy bee. Not really I'm just lazy.
Today has been a day of beauty or non beauty depending on how you look at it.

Schools out for summer.....

I think I'm beginning to get that "back to school" feeling. I don't think working in a childrenswear shop helps as we are really stocking up on uniforms! And I don’t think I am the only one. My fella just messaged me and said the radio is playing songs that remind him of his school days. It’s in the air!!!

All I want to do is buy new things. Pencils, pencil cases etc. I think I might treat myself to a few more Etsy purchases later in the month in order to satisfy this particular craving.

But as much as I love stationary, I love clothes more.

I think this floral dress would be a perfect end of summer buy. Wear now with bare legs (ha this is England so maybe not) and sandals until the chilly weather and dark nights roll in, then don a pair of opaque’s and brogues. Add my gorgeous, trusty satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Ccompany and I think I have the perfect first day of school (uni) outfit. Oh and check out this post at Super Duper for some super sock suggestions and further proof that the back to school bug is spreading. Now where’s my conkers!??!

Sniff Sniff 2....

As promised I have sniffed my way through my Angela Flanders perfumes in my quest for my new signature scent. Before I give my review I just need to say I think everyone should have a go at venturing away from the big name brands and finding something a little bit more unique. It feels so much more special and exciting!

OK here goes:

Pandoras Box...

I love it when I find a new site full of goodies just like the fantastic House of Pandora. Vintage clothing as well as new designers and none too expensive prices. Heaven.

"Fashion is at once both caterpillar and butterfly"....

I was just doing some research from my books and I came across this picture in my book of Chanel by the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I can't believe I had forgotten about it. So so beautiful that I had to share.

Chanel evening dress - 1937
My crappy scanner hasn't quite captured the same glitz of the stars as the book but you get the idea? Divine.

With a cherry on top....

Mmmm I love cherries. I could eat them all day long. But did you know that in the last 50 years Britain has lost 90% of its cherry orchards and now has to import 95% of them!!! No wonder they're so bloody expensive!!! Support the great British cherry here, and while you're at it, support the economy too by doing some cherry themed shopping!

Statuesque

I am loving this Norma Kamali dress, its called the sculpture dress and reminds me of the Henry Moore statue that was outside my high school.

BTW this isn't the sculpture that was outside my school, I couldn't find that one!
