I have a massive arse. There said it. I don't actually care about its size but I would like to tone it a lot more. So its a fortune in the gym for me then. OR option 2 just cover it in Strumpet and Pinks knickers. More specifically the spectacularly, frothy, silk tulle Black Swan pair.

Also with these beauties on worrying about the tube blowing up my skirt would be a thing of the past! *wink*

But at £525 from Glamorous Amorous maybe that gym membership would be cheaper.

Now I will say this was probably one of the most anticapated shows of all the fashion weeks. What would the label produce under Sarah Burton, who showed the first collection since he tragic death of the labels namesake earlier this year.

Well what she did create was a collection which remained true to the label, there were no major digressions away from previous themes and some shapes and prints appeared familiar. A quick search of the internet will find complaints about this collection being a "best of" and lacking the drama of collections produced under the man himself, but I think the first collection post Alexander was always going to be a tentative, testing of the waters for whoever took the healm what with the fans and followers McQueen had gathered over the years. Were she to reveal a complete revamp of the label would have more than likely seen the end of her career. I expect as she becomes more comfortable in her new position and people get used to the idea of her we will start to see more ideas presented in the shows (also no one complains when Chanel do monochrome or tweed suits). I, myself, look forward to seeing what Sarah Burton can come up with in future and congratulate her on a very nice first collection.

I just thought I would share this little shoe care article with you, y'know because shoes are expensive so you had better make them last! And I just wanted to add another tip I read somewhere recently but I don't remember where! Apparently if you put polish on your shoes before storing them in a cloth bag, you can just bring em out and buff 'em up! Voila!

You know the thing I hate most about interviews? Having to buy new interview clothes when the biggest reason you need a job is to get money. I have an interview Monday which would be fine if I could easily find smart, cheap clothing. I think I might have found a nice outfit in the end thanks to H&M but I did have to brave the Oxford Street Primark for a belt. Just a belt!!! I couldn’t find one ANYWHERE!!! And I despise Primark. But it all made me think maybe if I’d have stuck to the Internet I would have saved myself all that hassle. In fact I would have just got this tea dress and some brown brogues and had done with it. But I didn’t I went to the shops, which brings me to my excitement of the day! Get yourselves to the Selfridges shoe galleries ASAP!

Me and my flatmate took full advantage of it and I will attempt to get the pictures on here tomorrow. No time now as I am off to see a band, for free!!!

I am pretty sure nobody warned me about the sheer boredom I would encounter as a student. Seriously. Without a job to gurantee a monthly boost to my bank account I am living in fear of spending all my loan and being left penniless and unable to buy magazines and pick and mix. You know, the important things. Thank heavens for the £3 wine in Tesco, but a girl cannot live on wine alone. Well she can but all i will achieve is weight gain and bad skin, oh and alcoholism! All I can do is hope the job fairy comes along soon and believe me when it does I will be relieving my boredom the retail way! Maybe a sequin dress would be just the ticket to brighten the dreary Autumn days? Or maybe hit up Brick Lane and score me some vintage goodies before consulting the Vintage Guide to London for some fun times?

I am also considering filling my days with baking or cooking, top of my wishlist is parkin my favourite Yorkshire autumn treat. But buying ingredients and then tins etc always seems so expensive. As Kanye said “Having moneys not everything, not having it is”.

Every time Agent Provocateur send an email I know there's a massive possibility that theres going to be something inside to tempt me and today's email introduced me to Dasha and the classic Gangster in a lovely, new grey shade. Yes please.

This followed an email I recieved earlier from Nina and Lola in which I fell in love with this versatile MEGA scarf by Clarissa Labin.

I have turned all Southern and soft it would appear and therefore I am freezing and its not even October so I think this would be perfect. Well it would if it didn't have a £235 price tag.

Sorry for the lack of posts but I am now a student! Official. Enrolled and everything! Thats why I haven't been on the internet. No internet!!! I have it now though.
Due to my lack of internet I am super behind on looking at pictures of s/s11 but from what I am seeing so far its the same as last year so just keep hold of your leather/sheer/big knickers. Luckily I am living just off Brick Lane so I can get me plenty of vintage stuff until current designers decide to do something exciting.

I also have been told by uni that I am to pop alomg to the Grace Kelly exhibition at the V&A, no biggie was going to anyway. Its on til the 26th so if you wanna see how the old school did glamour check it out quick sharp.

I also quite fancy the Diagheliv and the Golden Age of the Ballet Russes exhibition, with costume collaboraters including Coco Chanel and Pablo Picasso it should be a nice little treat for the eyes.

I am a mega magazine addict. Seriously I love a new magazine so much. At times piles of magazines have threatened to trap me in my room and/or crush me to death in my sleep. So imagine my delight when I found this place. Magma Books. Holy heck. I promise myself I will wait til after the move though so I don't have to carry them all to London!

P.S. I found it while looking for somewhere I could purchase The Chap for my boyfriend, it sounds like the perfect magazine for him but the site only has subscriptions and we can't find a single issue in Leeds. But then I found it here! Hooray for me being a super girlfriend!

Summer, summer wherefore art thou? I guess it has gone then? Sorry to keep posting back to school/autumn posts but I can’t escape the feeling!!! I do love autumn though; I think it’s my favourite time of year. And not just because my birthday is in September!!! I love everything about autumn. I love the colours of autumn, I love the bonfires/Halloweens, I love being able to eat sausage and mash without sweating! And I love the fact that there’s no better excuse for new clothes than dark nights and colder weather. I’m already on the hunt new boots (anyone know where I can get some?), and I recovered my woolly, ribbed tights from storage last week! I do think I have found my dream coat but I don’t have £295 and if I could try and save it but I might have suffered frostbite by then, but just look at the little beauty.

In this funny in-between season time I am lusting after light knits in pretty colours like this lovely bit of embellished knitwear which would also be perfect for spring and matches the colour of the hair I fell in love with in my last post. I can never resist a little bit of sparkle either. Swoon.

Been a while eh? I'm trying not to slip into my old habit of a few posts a month but I am a busy bee. Not really I'm just lazy.

Today has been a day of beauty or non beauty depending on how you look at it.

I'm trying to get my hair lighter so I can have a baby pink shade rather than peach but for some reason the pink won't leave. At all. This is after washing with clarifying shampoos and bleaching with a 40vol bleach!!! So if you're after a long lasting dye Special Effects is where its at people!!!!

In other beauty news I bought a matte topcoat form No7 at Boots using one of those brilliant £5 off vouchers they do.

Heres my results, exscuse my hands they look wrinkly and my fingers look very long, I'm not a witch I promise its just my photography!

Cool huh? I only did one nail for testing purposes, I am doing both hands in full so I don't look like an insane-o.

I know matte nails have been in for an age but I don't care ok?

In non beauty related news my birthday is creeping ever closer!!! Argh!!! I am constantly looking at party dresses and wondering whether my pop star party is such a good idea when dressing as David Bowie means I miss out on wearing things like this.

I think I'm beginning to get that "back to school" feeling. I don't think working in a childrenswear shop helps as we are really stocking up on uniforms! And I don’t think I am the only one. My fella just messaged me and said the radio is playing songs that remind him of his school days. It’s in the air!!!

All I want to do is buy new things. Pencils, pencil cases etc. I think I might treat myself to a few more Etsy purchases later in the month in order to satisfy this particular craving.

I think this floral dress would be a perfect end of summer buy. Wear now with bare legs (ha this is England so maybe not) and sandals until the chilly weather and dark nights roll in, then don a pair of opaque’s and brogues. Add my gorgeous, trusty satchel from the Cambridge Satchel Ccompany and I think I have the perfect first day of school (uni) outfit. As promised I have sniffed my way through my Angela Flanders perfumes in my quest for my new signature scent. Before I give my review I just need to say I think everyone should have a go at venturing away from the big name brands and finding something a little bit more unique. It feels so much more special and exciting!

OK here goes:

Parchment

This one smells the most of vanilla and because I was looking for a replacement for a vanilla perfume I expected this to be my favourite. It is a beautiful smell and the vanilla is well balanced with other notes to steer it away from being too “fairy cakes” and keeps it a sophisticated scent. Very nice.

If this perfume was an item of clothing it would be this embellished top, feminine and pretty.

Ambre Noir

I liked this from my first sniff. It smelled almost honey sweet or maybe a rich, dark chocolate but at the same time I wouldn’t have described it as a sweet perfume. It is a dark, exotic and sexy scent yet it also has a warm and comforting aroma.

There is a note in this perfume that reminds me of the aftershave my boyfriend wears which also cheered me up because he was away.

If this perfume was an item of clothing it would be a fur coat, full of glamour.

Figue Noir

Again I liked the smell of this one while it was still in the bottle although as a fruiter scent I didn’t expect to love it on me as much as I did. Although the strength of the initial fragrance fades quite quickly the gentle sweetness which remains lasts a long time.

If this perfume was an item of clothing it would be pretty playsuit. Also the colour of this one is quite figgy no?

Oudh Noir

This one I found to be a very strong smelling perfume. It smells of wood and incense. Quite masculine, this one would be great on a man.

If this perfume was an item of clothing it would be a dark skinny jeans, its good for you AND your man!

And so I have decided. Well, almost. I am torn between Figue Noir and Ambre Noir. I like both equally, my sister likes the ambre noir and my boyfriend liked both but then I met him wearing Figue Noir and he was decided. I still have plenty of sample left to give me time to decide butI might just get both! Fresh, fruity, Figue for the day. Dark, smouldering, glamourous Ambre for the night.

Ever since I used up the last of my Delicious, bourbon vanilla scented Il Profumo perfume and decided it was far too expensive to buy again I have been on the hunt for a replacement. Not necessarily a match but something equally striking and memorable and most importantly something which most people would not be able to identify as that one that smelt in Boots. No offence Boots.

So I have decided to test these. I have started with Ambre Noir.

I just spent a few days in gorgeous, wild and windy Whitby with the boyfriend who has a bit of a thing for looking at wool (he was given balls of it to play with as a child and I guess it stuck?) so we went into Bobbins the little wool shop/museum. Anyway the point I'm trying to reach is that they had a small display about traditional fishermans jumpers or ganseys. Each village had their own patterens which allowed a fisherman to be identified and returned home should he be found washed up upon the shore. This may sound grim but it makes sense.

Anyway I highly doubt I'm going to be found washed up on any shores (fingers crossed) but I still like the look of these weatherproof jumpers. I'm thinking huge, oversized and worn with some super tight trousers.

Now you may or may not be familiar with the free magazine Stylist. Quite a nice little read on the bus/train/canteen with a cuppa. Likes to show me lots of lovely, expensive things I can't afford but I can deal with that, I mean its free. Vogue does the same but I pay for that!
But I noticed that for all its we are super women talk it still feels the need to note whether the women it features are single or married.

How can a magazine feature articles on issues such as boardroom equality whilst on another page listing the name of a female MD followed by the names of her husband, children and area in which she lives. I mean, who cares? Unless she runs a company with her husband does it even matter? Did her husband and children get her the job? Or is it just another example of women having to do everything and look pretty at the same time? I thought this was quite sweet, maybe a bit odd, but mostly sweet. Coats from the underground takes nightlife photos but rather than the usual nightclub posing a la cobrasnake etc he takes pictures of coats hanging in the cloakroom whilst the owners party on unsuspecting. I mean I like coats but they do look a bit like they are in a coat dungeon...

I really tried, honest I did. But whilst out getting christmas presents yesterday I stumbled across a pair of the Henry Holland for Pretty Polly tights hidden away in a store. Honestly hidden, in a tiny corner but I found em! I have been wanting these, any of them, since I first spied them on the net and I am ecstatic now I finally own a pair. I also love the fact that I keep seeing people giving me a "OMG shes cmoe out with her suspenders showing" look. Haha in your face boring, conventional tight wearing commuters of Leeds.

How could you not love that?

Well you may be shocked to realise, as I was, that by doing simple everyday activites such as washing with soap or eating a chocolate bar you are aiding the destruction of the home of the orangutan. And you may be even more shocked to discover its all perfectly avoidable.....

Palm oil is a product of the oil palm tree, a tree grown in South America, Africa and South East Asia. It can be found in many items including foods and soaps. To get this oil though, means deforestation and destruction of the local wildlife in order to create a plantation.

In addition to the destruction of the habitat palm oil workers have also been known to attack orangutans to stop them eating the palm seedlings.

So yeah. Its in loads of stuff but like I say it can be avoided. Posh chocolates don't contain it at all so put down the Galaxy and pick up some Green and Blacks (prefer it anyway) and Lush have already created a palm oil free soap base so you can keep a clean body and conscience (ho ho), besides which they smell blooming amazing. Sustainable palm oil is available but seeing as it would cost you a whole half pence more per bar its soooo much easier to just destroy the planet, no?

Black, grey, navy, the occasional green or white. Pretty much my day to day wardrobe. I am trying (try being the word) to bring more colour into my life but apart from my hair its not really working. I did buy a blue squin slip from Urban OUtfitters but I think if it wasn't shiny that would also drop into the navy category. SoI have been looking for inspiration...
Gala Darlings lovely lavender article has made me consider purple, I mean its not too far from blue and goes nicely with grey so I could work that in!

Not quite sure whats come over me. It all started with a Vivienne Westwood armour ring and my being too poor. So Daddy-o suggested I just look for goth or rock rings seeing as they wear them and it will be cheaper. Well yeah I found some but I also found loads of other things I want. Oh well at least a new goth look would help me fit in in my local and I already wear mostly balck and grey.

Yeah its a pendant cast from an actual rats skull but something is drawing me to it....

Ok so while doing my usual going into shops and wishing I could buy things but having no money, I went into No15 in the Thorntons Arcade because I was hoping they would have something pretty for my Mum for christmas. They did but thats by the by because it wasn't fashion-y. Anyway back to it they had a lovely little line of wooden jewellery by The Branch. Founded in 2003 by Wendy Pickard, The Branch is a range of wooden jewellery with delightful silver and gold accents, semi precious stones and even the odd diamond. I love the fusion of glamour with the natural element of wood. Even the chainmail pieces are made from tiny wooden hoops. Now all I need to do is not buy anyone a christmas present and I can get myself a nice little selection. Giving is overrated anyway...

Modern mermaids listen up! Alexander McQueens S/S10 collection is delightfully fishy. Upgrade your scales with sequins and put fins in your hair. Land lovers can also marvel at the shoes, but to be honest I think I would have as much trouble wearing them as our aquatic, footless friends.

And this is by far my favourite, favourite look of the collection.

Look at the colours when the light hits it. Mmmmm. If I was a millionaire mermaid that would be my outfit in an instant. Apparantly the inspiration for this comes from the idea that humankind is made up of creatures that evolved from the sea, and we may be heading back to an underwater future as the ice cap dissolves. Oh well with outfits like this who would complain?

Anyone who knows me will know I have a serious, serious thing for beautiful undies. Knowing that under the rattiest pair of jeans lies super sexy smalls is one of those small pleasures that makes me smile, and the smile on my face is huge today after coming across Ophelia Fancy. They do silky, sparkly, playful, sexy, fun or flirty. There are bras, knickers, stockings, pasties, garters, abso-bloody-lutley anything you could wish for really. And possibly the prettiest dressing gown I have seen ( to add a bit of luxury while spilling toast crumbs down yourself?) Oh well birthday soon, haha.

I have developed a few obsessions lately, one being getting my hair ginger and the other is ruffles. I have ruffles and frills on the brain, but the problem is I want them BIG, I don;t care where I have them as long as they are big, bold ones. I want them to stand out otherwise whats the point. Blimey, heatwave or what?!? I feel sorry for those Londoners. Anyways what I would rather be doing right now is dunking myself into a cooling pool, preferebly an outdoor pool. Preferably the kind of outdoor pool that had its heyday in the 30s. If this weather keeps up I will be begging someone to take me to Ilkley Lido at the weekend. And if I had the pennies I would be doing it old school, like it should be! If you love a lido, tell us where! Keep us all cool please.

Or perhaps more like the rebirth. My wardrobe reborn as a tidy clothes haven. Perhaps. Its what I am aiming for anyway. I blame Coco Eco mag for putting this idea into my head. But it has to be done, theres allsorts in there I never wear so I have started. Ebay and charity shops be ready, I have even done my shoes!

I haven't finished but when I do I will post my results, I am going to be brutal. No mercy for unworn clothes!!!

OK I was, but only because I was waiting for my boyfriend and there was nothing else on! Anyway, I don't watch it often and I am glad I did today because they were showcasing a jewellery brand called Chateau D'Argent, and I absolutely fell for this ring.

This picture doesn't make it look quite as striking as it did on my TV, where it was a most beautiful shade of blue, but still looking for this made me want a few more pieces.
